The bus driver was ten minutes late. Maybe it was his first day on the job or something, but he did tell this chick to not talk on her phone while she was walking into the bus and just fumbling for coins without any sign of acknowledgement to the driver. I sorta did agree, it was rather rude of her to do that.
Despite the driver's tardiness, I still got to Parra within the specified time frame and found Jo waiting for me. We then went to Hype DC where there was this hot chick in a yellow singlet working there. Oh, and there was also the guy I had talked to last time, today he was wearing the chambray Jordan VII's and he had a little freakout when he saw my shoes:
"Woah! Where did you get those? I haven't sold a pair of Stabs in ages!"
Then to which we had a little conversation about colourways and ordering shoes from this guy and divorce. Then I finally asked him about work and that I had my resume, but he told me they had already hired someone new and maybe I should try Burwood - he would be happy to send my resume in but I told him to not worry and yeah.
So then we went to Platypus where this decent Asian girl was working and I asked her [s]out[/s] about vacancies, then she redirected me to her less friendly-looking manager and she told me no spots left, sorry dude. Sigh.
Oh so at Footlocker there was an immensely awkward situation. I walked in and was beaten to start the conversation by the store guy. Here is what was said:
"Hey man nice 180s"
"Stabs."
"=|" (that's a face btw :|)
The guy, who works at Footlocker got the model of shoe completely wrong. Does he know what he is selling? Does he know?
Spent the rest of the day aimlessly walking around Parra looking at stuff. We ate these really soggy hot chips, and I learnt that sometimes watching the people prepare the food is not the best thing to do:
- Get out bag of frozen Woolworths brand chips
- Chuck carelessly into deep fryer racks
- Disregard and make pearl tea
- Wipe a small shallow red bucket with paper towels
- Pour chips into bucket
- Add some sort of crazy doohickey powder/s
- Serve to mortified Minh
- Give Minh a shitload of chilli sauce
We also went outside Westfields and Parramasala was on, some sort of south Asian (India, Sri Lanka, etc) festival and upon walking past the Chai Tea stall, things really smelt like pho. Went to Parramatta River and Jo learnt to manual focus, sort of. If me presetting a focusing distance and putting the camera on liveview and Jo telling me to move closer or further counts, then she learnt to manual focus, lol.
Meandered for a bit more, then went home. Stuck with my resumes. Dammit Parramatta, y u no give me job?
